Aben To Go

Food is ready.

Aben To Go connects home cooks, small kitchens and restaurants with the people who want what they cook — Ghanaian, Nigerian, Caribbean, Turkish, Somali, Filipino, whatever your neighbours are cooking tonight. Starting in Tottenham and Seven Sisters, open to every kitchen and every kitchen’s food.

“ABEN was created to bring people closer through food — connecting us to one another by sharing the meals we love, the products we make, and the culture we carry wherever we go.”

For cooks

If you already cook for people around you, Aben To Go gives you a storefront, a menu, and a way to take orders and be paid — without building any of it yourself. Every kitchen is verified before it goes live: we check your ID, your council food business registration and your food hygiene certificate, because customers are entitled to expect somebody did.

For customers

Browse kitchens near you, order for collection or delivery, and pay by card. You will know whose kitchen your food came from.

The app

Aben To Go is in testing on Android. If you would like to be a tester, or you cook and want a storefront, write to hello@abentogo.co.uk.

About the name

Aben means “it is cooked” — food is ready — in Twi, a language of Ghana, where this started. The mark above is Akoko Nan, from the Akan proverb akoko nan tia ba, na enkum ba: the hen treads on her chicks, but she does not kill them. It stands for care that protects without harming, which is the spirit we are trying to build this on.

The name is where we come from, not a line around who this is for. Any cook, any kitchen, any food somebody makes well.
